Christian friend, do you struggle with the insidious sin of pride always trying to creep in? Here is a truth that ought to help with that. Jesus says we humans are evil! Yes, I think He slipped it in on purpose while He was addressing another truth. Here it is in Matthew 7:11. “If you, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him?” Our reality is that we are all evil. We all sin at times even when we try not to. So, when we are tempted to pat ourselves on the back for how good we are, remember we have no reason to be prideful, but are wholly in debt to our Lord for rescuing us from our evil state.
